TL;DR

Lio Energy accelerates the transition to renewable energy, and its business-development and operations teams depend on smooth collaboration with partners across multiple infrastructure projects. Traditional tools like cloud folders and email offered no structured access control or audit trail, setup was slow, and stakeholders struggled to find insights across legal, financial, and technical files — so I designed a custom data room (internally 'Cwick Rooms') that blends structured Sell-Side control with conversational AI for Buy-Side analysis.

  • What it is — a dual-mode due-diligence data room: Sell-Side control plus Buy-Side conversational AI.
  • My role — UX/UI design for the custom Cwick Rooms implementation tailored to Lio.
  • The result — early indicators: document insights surfaced in under 2 minutes, deal rooms stood up in under 30.
01The problem

Managing due diligence in energy is complex, manual, and full of friction. With multiple infrastructure projects involving municipalities, investors, and technical partners, traditional tools like cloud folders and email fall short — there is no structured access control or audit trail, setup is slow, and stakeholders struggle to find insights across legal, financial, and technical files.

02Designing the solution

A dual-mode data room that blends structured control with conversational AI. The design serves both legal professionals and non-technical stakeholders in the deal.

  • Sell Side — an admin console to structure rooms, manage files, set roles, and track engagement
  • SharePoint and Google Drive integrations, with clear permission logic and document versioning
  • Buy Side — AI-powered conversational access to the entire data room
  • Predefined prompts for financial, legal, and operational queries
  • Insight export in formats like Word, PDF, or PPT
03My role

UX and UI design for a custom implementation of our Data Room app — internally 'Cwick Rooms' — tailored to Lio. The work translated a complex, document-heavy process into a user-friendly, AI-powered platform that supports both Sell-Side control and Buy-Side analysis.
